Privacy Policy for a-pact access

This privacy policy explains how the a-pact access mobile app („the app“, „we“, „us“) handles your information. The app is designed to put you in control of your smart locks without requiring an account or collecting personal data on our servers.

  1. Information stored on your device

When you use the app, the following information is stored locally on your device only:

  • Lock information you add (name, MAC address, and the encrypted lock data needed to communicate with each lock).
  • Credentials you create for your locks: passcodes, fingerprint records, and IC card records.
  • Optional gateway configuration (Wi-Fi name and credentials you enter during setup of a TTLock gateway).
  • App preferences (theme, language, sort and filter settings).
  • Activity logs retrieved from your locks (who unlocked, when).

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export, share, or sync it (see sections 3 and 4).

  1. Permissions the app requests
  • Bluetooth: required to discover and communicate with your smart locks and gateways. The app does not transmit Bluetooth data to any server.
  • Location: required by the operating system in order to use Bluetooth Low Energy scanning. Your location is not recorded, stored, or transmitted by the app.
  • Local storage / Files: used to read and write the app’s own data and to import or export backup files you choose.
  • Notifications (optional): used only to surface lock activity if you enable it.
  1. Backup and export

You can export your lock data as a .apact file from within the app. These files contain your encrypted lock data and are saved wherever you choose (Files app, email, AirDrop, etc.). You are responsible for storing and sharing these files securely. We do not receive a copy.

  1. Optional cloud features
  • TTLock gateways: if you set up a gateway, the app communicates with TTLock’s cloud servers in order to register the gateway, send commands, and receive remote unlock events. This is operated by TTLock and is subject to TTLock’s own privacy policy: https://www.ttlock.com/privacy_policy
  • iCloud sync (iOS only, if enabled): when enabled, your it can sync across your own Apple devices. This data is handled by Apple and is subject to Apple’s privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
  • We do not operate our own servers and do not receive a copy of any of your data.
  1. Analytics, advertising, and tracking

The app does not include any analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or third-party tracking. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell or share any data with third parties.

  1. Children’s privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

  1. Security

Lock data is stored using the platform’s standard application storage. Sensitive lock material is kept in the encrypted form provided by the lock manufacturer. We recommend protecting your device with a passcode or biometric lock.

  1. Your rights

Because all data stays on your device (or in your own iCloud account), you can delete it at any time by removing the relevant lock in the app, clearing the app’s data, or uninstalling the app.

  1. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The „last updated“ date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
